Is this the right tool for the job?

Best For:

  • Rig-mounted large cores in reinforced concrete walls and slabs
  • One- to two-person crews coring daily across multi-site projects
  • MEP, fire, HVAC sleeves and utility bundles through walls/slabs

Not Ideal For:

  • Small anchor holes - rotary hammers are faster and safer
  • Hand-held overhead work - rig mount is required for safety
  • Sites prohibiting water/slurry - this is for wet coring setups

Why Pros choose this tool:

  • Hydraulic torque delivery → cuts clean through rebar, hard mix → minimal blowout; holes pass inspection
  • No live electric at the head → safer wet coring around slurry → fewer GFCI trips; easier compliance
  • Rig‑mounted stability with steady feed → plumb, accurate placement → sleeves fit; less patching and rework

HUSQVARNA CORE DRILL MOTOR - THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION FOR HEAVIER DRILLING

Introducing the Husqvarna DM 406 H Core Drill Motor, a robust and powerful hydraulic tool designed to handle heavy-duty drilling tasks with ease. With its ability to drill holes as large as 24 inches in diameter, this device is an excellent choice for projects requiring high production rates, particularly when using large diameter core bits. The DM 406 H stands out with its efficiency and ease of use, thanks to its ability to change hydraulic speed while drilling. This makes it ideal for creating large and deep holes, waste evacuation pipes, and stitch drilling in a variety of materials, including reinforced concrete.

This drill motor is not only powerful with its 125 hp rated input power but also portable, weighing only 35 lbs. The maximum drill bit diameter with the stand is 25.6 inches, and the spindle speed can reach up to 1400 rpm in unloaded gear 2. It has a wet coolant system and a maximum hydraulic pressure of 2,030 psi. Built to last, the DM 406 H is your reliable partner for all heavy-duty drilling tasks.
